John Bergh has more than 25 years of nationwide commercial property experience, specializing in the leasing of regional shopping centers, strip centers, and specialty retail projects. Bergh has transactional experience in over one million square feet of retail leasing with tenants such as The Limited, GAP, Stein Mart, Panera Bread, IHOP, American Eagle, Eddie Bauer and many other local and regional retailers.
Prior to joining Siegel-Gallagher, Bergh was Senior Vice President of Retail Leasing for JMB Retail Properties/Urban Retail Properties in Chicago, one of the nation’s largest owners of retail centers, where he directed retail leasing efforts throughout the Central United States. He also worked as a Senior Vice President for Urban Retail Properties in Boston, gaining additional experience with retailers and properties in New England, New York, Washington D.C. and the Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern states.
Bergh’s experience has included a vertical mall in Midtown Manhattan, traditional malls, strip malls and community centers, lifestyle centers, a casino, street retail, and acquisition, disposition and repositioning strategies. He currently works with retailers in tenant representation assignments, handling single and multiple site requirements. Bergh’s clients have included J.P. Morgan, Blackstone Realty, Met Life, Oaktree Capitol, Argent Properties and JMB Group Trust.
In Wisconsin, Bergh has leased and directed the leasing of Northridge and Southridge malls in Milwaukee, regional centers in Green Bay and Beaver Dam, as well as numerous strip and community centers in the southern part of the state. Bergh currently represents major retail development projects in Madison, Oconomowoc and Milwaukee.
A graduate of the University of Wisconsin. Madison, Bergh is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) and Commercial Brokers Group.
